Description

The Garmin GPSMAP 66i Topoactive Europe GPS device kills several birds with one stone. Not only does it provide exact orientation in any terrain, it also provides quick help in an emergency. This means that you can be connected to the GEOS search and rescue control centre worldwide at any time via direct communication and emergency button - even without a radio network. Messages can be written and received worldwide via the Irdidium satellite network - however, a satellite subscription is required for this.

The integrated quad-helix antenna, which supports GPS and Galileo, makes off-road navigation particularly precise. Garmin has pre-installed TopoActive Europe maps and BirdsEye satellite images can be downloaded directly to the device. With a mobile phone connection, weather forecasts and geocaching live information can be directly displayed on the Garmin GPSMAP 66i Topoactive Europe GPS. In addition, tours can be planned with the Garmin Explore™ website and app and waypoints, routes and activities can be managed directly on the device. Users can evaluate and view the adventures they have experienced on the device afterwards.

Garmin is also very good at hardware. The GPSMAP 66i Topoactive Europe GPS can run for up to a week. In expedition mode, the device records up to 200 hours with 30-minute tracking intervals. With 10-minute tracking, the running time is 35 hours. The Garmin GPSMAP 66i Topoactive Europe GPS complies with the military standard MIL-STD-810G. This means it can withstand extreme heat and cold, temperature shocks, dust, moisture, immersion, shock and impact. Its clear 3" colour display is easy to read even in extreme situations and can also be used while wearing thicker gloves.
